Welcome to The Writing Refuge, I’m Marisa, and this is where I will be sharing the ups and downs of my writing journey, travel adventures with my friends and family, and of course some of my stories.
I rediscovered my love for reading and writing fiction after selling my small business in the fall of 2022. With an abundance of free time I began to travel with my husband and found myself searching out local library events and indie book stores wherever we visited. We were never in one area long enough to start attending local writing groups, so I began practicing on my own with writing prompts. Then came a few short stories I shared with friends and family members. Now I have a growing folder of written material that I would love to share with you.
My husband and I have four children and six precious grandchildren that live many states away from us. Needless to say we are on the road nearly more than we are at home, but that suits us just fine. I hope you enjoy living vicariously through our many adventures.
